Submit a paper

A paper whose authors published their code, and that OSCR has not found yet, or not with all its code: give its DOI and the links to the code.

How it goes

1. You give the paper's DOI and one to five links to its authors' code (GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg, Zenodo, OSF, figshare, Code Ocean, Hugging Face…). OSCR checks at once that the DOI is registered and that each link answers.
2. OSCR's own machine then reads the paper as it reads every paper, verifies the code at its source (its commit, its license, its scripts) and matches it with the paper's paragraphs.
3. A draft of the record comes back to your account page: review it, correct the links if need be, then publish it.
4. When your ORCID iD is among the paper's authors, the record is published at once; otherwise the registry's rules publish it when each code link is proven the paper's — cited by the paper itself, or its owner proven one of its authors — and otherwise leave it to the operator, 30 days at most, saying why; a README citing the paper proves nothing (how submissions are decided). Papers outside neuroscience stay out of OSCR.

What is kept

• The DOI, the links and your note, with your account, until the record is published or refused, and the draft of the record that OSCR made.
• No email address: a note loses any address typed into it.
• Ten submissions a day at most for one account.
